Isn't this the first manager in our history appointed who has won something? Does fucking help.

Anderson will get injured 34 minutes into his debut and be out until March.
Yarmolenko will have a fight with NOBES in training as the skipper likes to laugh and cuddle too much, and he doesn't like that sort of thing.
Diop and Balbuena will turn to utter garbage with Kouyate playing in front of them and we will ship the most goals EVER in a PL season.
Bottom at Christmas, relegated in March, just in time for Anderson's return.
But there will be CARPET around the pitch and a place to out your pints.

if it were another mid table PL club in our position we'd be saying the same things.
there are a lot of changes and therefore a lot of chances that it will go wrong.
lets just wait and see how the manager handles mid table football and how all these new signings bed in.

Pessimistic is a natural way to be in my opinion. People that are overly positive and happy can't be trusted and get the fuck on my nerves. Don't get excited and if it does happen then it's better. If it doesn't then you haven't made yourself look a right cunt.

I've always wondered why other teams seem to be managed so well, cut their cloth to fit, and progress nicely season on season, and yet West Ham constantly seem to have these huge peaks and troughs so often.
Surely it can't be that hard to put together a coherent strategy which will improve the football club both on and off the field?
It's not just our current dick owners either, it stretches back as far as I can really remember.
We've always lurched from one disaster to another.
I'm not even sure it's pessimism anymore.

It is indeed. The 3-4 Wimbledon match is seared into my memory. That is the West Ham way

With quality of the signings + the quality of the manager to gel them together I think we may be in for a very good season.
But - managing expectations, I think we'll look disjointed for the 1st 6 games and the quality of the opposition in those games will test us.
Saying that though, once settled down and Pelle has found our most effective line up, I'm looking for a top 8 finish with style minimum, anything better is a bonus.

Away to both Scousers and Arsenal and home to Man U and Chelsea within the first 7 games. FIVE big games, 2 we should win.
The leaders could well be on 21pts and a few not far behind.
We'll be doing well to have got in double figures.

Looking forward to the coming season. But wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if It all went Pete Tong. And will never be comfortable or happy until the SPIVS fuck off.

I've had so much crushed optimism over the years I'm taking this season with a 'let's see' attitude.
Let's face it, even if Pelle manages to put together a fantastic team and get us a CL spot, a herd of gorillas would no doubt fall out of the sky, hitting the team bus, killing all inside.
It's the West Ham way.

It would make a nice change if for the opening league game we look as fit and up for it as the opposition and are tactically sound.
